My son is not truly autistic, but he is dyslexic and he has a big chewing problem, especially when he is nervous or deeply concentrating. He has chewed up everything from headphone cords to cell phone cords. This last time he chewed through an extension cord, thank God it was not plugged in at the time. I saw this item when I ordered the pencil holder and letter spaced paper and thought it would help. This has done wonders for his chewing, I see him with it and breathe a sigh of relief that it is going to help.
