The syllable segmentation pack is suitable for both group and one-to-one settings to facilitate repetition, modelling and reinforcement. Devised by Felicity Durham with illustrations by Helen Rippon, a range of syllable segmentation activities are included along with instructions for use: The posting game – an introduction to counting syllables Lotto and pairs – including additional pictures for children who require more practice Syllable ladders – who will be the first to get all their syllable balloons in the sky? Syllable bingo – take turns to throw the special dice and cover up a picture on your board that has the correct number of syllables to match the number shown. Syllable stars – throw the dice. Can you think of a word with the same number of syllables as the square where you land? Syllable quiz – take turns to select a card and see if you can think of an answer!
